- 500 g boneless chicken thighs or breasts
- 1/2 cup yogurt curd
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon oil or butter for grilling

- 3 medium-sized tomatoes chopped
- 1 medium-sized onion finely chopped
- 3-4 garlic cloves minced
- 1- inch piece of ginger minced
- 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
- 1/2 cup fresh cream
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek leaves kasuri methi
- Salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon sugar optional
- 1 cup water
Step-by-Step Instructions for Butter Chicken
Step 1: Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, salt, and lemon juice.
Add chicken pieces and coat them evenly with the marinade.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 4 hours for enhanced flavor).
Step 2: Grill the Chicken
Heat a grill pan or skillet and add a little butter or oil.
Cook the marinated chicken on medium heat until fully cooked and slightly charred (5-6 minutes on each side).
Set the cooked chicken aside.
